The Love We Turn Towards Ourselves

A Sacred Reclamation Sister Circle held beneath Venus Retrograde

Thursday 1 October 2026 | 7.30pm | Online via Zoom

The Love We Turn Towards Ourselves

There are many ways in which love moves through our lives.

The love we offer.
The love we receive.
The love we long for.
The love we express through care, attention, tenderness and presence.

And then there is the relationship we hold with ourselves.

How do we value ourselves? What do we believe ourselves worthy of receiving? What brings us pleasure, beauty and meaning? What do we desire, and how willing are we to listen when those desires speak?

On this evening, we will gather in Circle to turn towards these questions together.

Not in search of the right answers, but with curiosity about what becomes visible when we give our relationship with ourselves our sacred attention.

Through meditation, journalling, reflection, simple ritual and shared conversation, we will explore love not simply as something exchanged between ourselves and others, but as something we are invited to cultivate, embody and receive within our own lives.

An evening of Sacred Reclamation devoted to the relationship we hold with ourselves.

Beneath Venus Retrograde

Venus speaks to love, beauty, pleasure, desire, relationship, value, worth and our capacity to receive.

When Venus turns retrograde, her symbolism invites us to turn some of that attention inward and become curious about the relationship we hold with ourselves.

As Venus journeys through the deep waters of Scorpio, this Sister Circle offers a sacred space to explore these themes with honesty, curiosity and compassion, in the company of other women.

Venus provides the doorway. What we discover through it belongs to each of us.

Most of us arrive at a point, at some stage in our lives, where we realise we have been living inside a collection of definitions that do not fully belong to us.

Some of them were given to us by others. By society, by circumstance, by the bodies we were born into, by the roles we stepped into with love or necessity or simply because life asked it of us.

Some of them we gave to ourselves. Measuring our worth by our career title. Defining ourselves by what we could achieve or produce. Allowing the labels: illness, relationship status, caring role, body size, mental health history, to become the whole story of who we are.

I know this from the inside.

I have been defined by polycystic ovaries that meant I could not have children, and by a society that has a particular word for women like me. I have been defined by fibromyalgia, by depression, by anxiety. By caring roles that asked me to put myself last. By a career I worked hard to build and then lost. By a body that did not cooperate with the life I was trying to live.

And I know the moment when you look at all of those labels and roles and ask, quietly and with a kind of aching honesty, but which one is actually me?

That question is not a crisis. It is a beginning.

Because beneath every role you have ever carried, every label that has ever been placed on you or that you have placed on yourself, there is a woman who existed before any of it. Who has her own nature, her own desires, her own truth. Who has perhaps been waiting, patiently and without complaint, to be remembered.

Some roles are a joy and a blessing. Some are carried with genuine love. This is not about abandoning them or deciding they were wrong. It is about finding the woman underneath them all, and beginning to live from that place rather than being defined by the weight of what you carry.

That is where Sacred Reclamation begins. With remembering who you are.

What We Will Explore Together

This Circle is an invitation to give sacred attention to the relationship you hold with yourself.

Together, we will create space to explore what love, value and worth mean to us; what we desire and find meaningful; how we experience pleasure and receiving; and what becomes possible when we meet ourselves with greater attention and reverence.

Through guided meditation, journalling and a simple ritual, there will be time to turn inward and listen to what arises for you.

And through conversation and sharing, we will experience these questions in community, hearing different perspectives, witnessing one another and recognising that our individual experiences can be held within something shared.

There is nothing you need to achieve or resolve. This is an hour to experience, reflect, connect and give yourself your own sacred attention.
