A Sacred Reclamation Gathering

The Invitation

There comes a moment when you realise you are tired in a way that sleep cannot fix.

Not because you have done too much in a single day, but because you have spent months, perhaps years, carrying more than anyone was ever meant to carry. Holding everything together. Meeting the needs of others before your own. Remaining strong because life seemed to leave little alternative.

Somewhere along the way, rest became something to earn.

Something that came only after every responsibility had been met, every task completed and everyone else cared for.

And so, it rarely came at all.

This Gathering is an invitation to remember something different.

That rest is not a reward.

It is one of the ways you come home to yourself.

Held the morning after the Full Moon in Cancer, we gather at a meaningful moment to pause and replenish. The Full Moon illuminates what has reached fullness and what can no longer remain unnoticed, while Cancer draws our attention towards nourishment, emotional honesty and the essential need to care for ourselves as deeply as we care for others.

Where have you continued giving when there was little left to give?

Where have you treated your own need for rest as less important than everyone else’s needs?

Where have you become so accustomed to carrying on that you no longer notice how depleted you feel?

January often arrives with its own pressure to begin again through productivity, resolutions and renewed effort. This morning offers another possibility.

Not to push forward.

But to pause long enough to hear what is asking to be restored.

Beginning to Reclaim Yourself

Rest is often treated as something that begins when life becomes quieter, when the list is finally complete or when nothing else requires your attention. Yet life rarely offers that perfect moment. There is almost always another task, another responsibility or another person who needs something from you.

Reclaiming rest begins when you stop waiting for permission and begin recognising it as a necessary part of how you care for yourself.

Throughout the morning, you will be invited to explore the relationship you have with rest, noticing where guilt, expectation or responsibility may have shaped the way you respond to your own needs. More importantly, you will begin discovering what meaningful rest might look like within the reality of your own life.

Perhaps it means creating ten quiet minutes before the day begins. Perhaps it means protecting an evening that belongs to you, asking for support rather than carrying everything alone, or allowing yourself to stop before exhaustion makes the decision for you.

There is no expectation that your life will suddenly become quieter. Sacred Reclamation is not about withdrawing from the responsibilities that genuinely belong to you. It is about making sure that you belong within your own life too.

My hope is that you will leave with practical reflections, meaningful resources and small, intentional ways to begin reclaiming rest as an ongoing act of care, nourishment and devotion to yourself.

What the morning holds

From the moment you arrive, you will be welcomed into a space that has been prepared with care and intention.

As you step through the door, you will be invited to receive a smoke blessing before settling around a long rustic table with herbal teas, decaffeinated coffee and homemade vegan and gluten-free treats. At the heart of the room, an altar of candles, flowers, crystals and seasonal symbols creates a quiet focal point for the morning ahead.

Together, we will move through guided meditation, thoughtful reflection, journalling and honest conversation. There is never any pressure to share more than feels comfortable, nor any expectation to arrive with answers. You are simply invited to be present, to listen to yourself, and to explore the themes of the Gathering in your own way.

Throughout the morning, you will have time to pause, breathe, reflect and consider what genuine rest might look like within the reality of your everyday life. Rather than leaving with a pleasant morning behind you, you will begin creating your own personal practices of Sacred Reclamation, supported by reflections and resources that you can continue returning to long after the Gathering has ended.

Before we close, we gather together one final time to acknowledge what has been witnessed, restored and reclaimed during the morning, carrying those reflections gently back into our lives.

Taking Sacred Reclamation Home

Throughout the morning, you will have time to pause, breathe and reflect on what genuine rest means for you. Together, we will gently explore how rest can become part of your everyday life, not as something reserved for holidays or the end of a busy week, but as an ongoing relationship with yourself.

Rather than leaving with the idea that you simply need more rest, you will begin creating your own personal practices of Sacred Reclamation, supported by reflections and resources that you can continue returning to long after the Gathering has ended.

Before we close, we gather together one final time to acknowledge what has been witnessed, softened and reclaimed during the morning, carrying those reflections gently back into our lives.
