The Invitation

When did you last truly rest?

Not collapsed at the end of a day when there was nothing left to give. Not sleep stolen between responsibilities. Not the kind of rest that arrives with guilt attached, the quiet sense that you should be doing something, that this is time you cannot really afford.

But genuine, unhurried, guilt-free rest. Rest as something you chose, consciously and without apology, because you deserved it.

This gathering is an invitation to explore what that actually means. And to begin, perhaps for the first time, to give yourself permission.

A Full Moon in Cancer, A Permission to Pause

This gathering is held the morning after the Full Moon in Cancer, and that timing feels like an act of grace.

Cancer is ruled by the Moon herself. It is the most inward-turning sign of the zodiac, deeply connected to nourishment, to emotional honesty, to the quiet but essential need to come home to yourself. A Full Moon in Cancer illuminates everything that has been depleted, everything that has been given out, and everything that is quietly asking to be replenished.

And January brings its own particular pressure. The world will be pushing hard by this point, urging women back into productivity, into resolutions, into the relentless forward momentum of a new year. This gathering arrives as a direct and sacred counter to all of that. A morning of genuine permission to stop, to soften, and to remember that rest is not something you earn. It is something you deserve. Simply because you are here.

Why this gathering exists

Rest has a reputation problem.

In a world that celebrates busyness, that measures worth by productivity, that quietly suggests you are only valuable when you are achieving something, rest can feel like the opposite of what you should be doing.

And so women rest badly. Guiltily. Partially. Always with one eye on the list of things that are waiting. Never quite able to arrive fully into stillness because stillness feels like a luxury that has not yet been earned.

But here is what I know to be true.

Rest is not the absence of productivity. It is not laziness, indulgence, or time wasted. It is one of the most honest and sacred things you can offer yourself. And it is far bigger and more varied than most of us have ever allowed ourselves to believe.

Rest is the long sleep when your body is asking for it. But it is also the five minutes away from your desk with a cup of tea. The walk outside when the walls of your home are closing in. The journal opened at a quiet moment. The oracle card pulled before the day begins. The bath taken slowly and without rushing. The moment of stillness before you go inside.

Rest is any moment in which you give yourself permission to stop producing and simply be.

And when you begin to reclaim it, not as a reward for completing everything but as a genuine, ongoing act of devotion to yourself, something shifts. The exhaustion begins to lift. The overwhelm softens. The sense of moving through life on empty begins, slowly and honestly, to change.

What the morning holds

You will arrive into a space that has been prepared for you.

As you step through the door, you will be welcomed with a smoke blessing. From there, you will gather around a long rustic table with herbal teas, decaf coffee, and homemade treats, and space to arrive fully and unhurriedly into the morning.

At the heart of the room, an altar has been laid with candles, crystals, flowers, and oracle cards. It is the still point around which the morning turns.

This morning itself is an act of rest. From the moment you step inside, you are no longer required to produce, perform, or manage anything. You are simply invited to be.

Together we will explore what rest actually means to each of us, beyond the obvious. We will sit with where the guilt lives and where it comes from. We will look honestly at the beliefs we carry about our own worthiness to stop, to pause, to prioritise ourselves without justification. And we will begin to expand our understanding of what rest can look like in the reality of our everyday lives.

The morning moves through guided meditation, honest conversation, deep journaling, and a breathwork practice to help you soften and arrive more fully into stillness.

Before we close, we gather together around the altar, standing in a circle, facing one another. In that closing space we honour what has been witnessed, what has been released, and what each woman is choosing to carry home with her.

You will leave not only with a new understanding of rest but having genuinely experienced it. The morning itself is the beginning of the reclamation.

This gathering is for you if

You find it difficult to rest without feeling guilty or unproductive.

You tend to keep going until you are forced to stop rather than choosing to pause before you reach that point.

You rest partially, always with one part of your attention on what is waiting, never quite arriving fully into stillness.

You know you need more rest but have not yet found a way to give yourself permission for it.

You are curious about what rest actually means beyond sleep, and what it might look like woven honestly into your everyday life.

You are drawn to the idea of spending a sacred morning in the company of other women, simply being rather than doing.

Or you simply feel the pull of this gathering and trust that feeling enough to follow it.

You do not need to arrive exhausted or depleted to belong here. You simply need a willingness to pause, and an openness to discovering what becomes possible when you do.

A note from me

I used to be terrible at resting.

Not because I did not know I needed it. But because I had absorbed, somewhere along the way, the belief that rest had to be earned. That I was only allowed to stop when everything was done. And since everything was never done, I very rarely stopped.

What changed was not a sudden revelation. It was a gradual, honest recognition that the way I was living was not sustainable, and that the guilt I carried around rest was not truth. It was conditioning. And conditioning, unlike truth, can be unlearned.

I began to notice rest in smaller places than I had ever thought to look for it. The cup of tea made slowly and drunk without doing anything else. The five minutes outside with my face turned toward the light. The moment of genuine stillness before the day began. These were not indulgences. They were acts of devotion to myself. And over time, they changed the quality of everything.

I created this gathering because I believe every woman deserves to reclaim rest as something sacred rather than something guilty. Not as a reward for being productive enough. As a right. As a practice. As a genuinely nourishing part of a life that honours all of who you are.

This January morning is yours. Come and rest.

Held in love, Beth
